One of the many things Prestonwood Christian Academy is committed to is staff training. Parents can be assured that their teacher has been fully immersed in the academia and culture of PCA before school ever starts. Staff are are trained to know all that PCA has to offer. They see the big picture and look at the tiniest details. In other words, they spend a lot of time in preparation for the year ahead. A lot of time - sixteen days - to be exact - in New Staff Training preparing for students! This doesn't count the endless hours teachers spend readying their classrooms! There are many things I love about the PCA North Staff - but one of them is how committed these teachers are to being learners. The very best teachers remain learners!
Here are some pictures of both learning, room prep, and some other back to school festivities I thought parents would enjoy seeing! All are in preparation and anticipation of the arrival of our PCA NORTH STUDENTS!
I love this picture so much. It is on a Friday afternoon - after a full week of training and look at the energy and enthusiasm! Yep - that's the PCA North Staff! |
New school supplies make teachers simply giddy! A new stapler? Are you kidding me? Better than Christmas morning! |
Speaking of giddy...I think there may have been cartwheels in the hallways when these storage cabinets arrived! |
Then we realized the cafeteria tables actually had to fit through the doors of the cafeteria. Hummm????!
Almost...almost...if only we didn't have that tiny hinge on the top, it would have been an easy "roll on in." But - where there's a will, there is usually a way!
Then the staff celebrated, broke bread together (Ok...honestly, we are women watching our carbs so instead of breaking bread, we shared salads!), and prayed for the students who would sit here...next week? Did someone say..."Next week?"
Here are a few pictures of the room prep! Not only does our staff work hard, we already love each other deeply. It's been pretty amazing to watch how quickly this group has bonded. And - these women are fun and laugh a lot. Walking around the hallways brings me great joy - always seeing hard work while hearing the chatter! What a team!
On Tuesday, August 12th, Prestonwood North and PCA North joined together to welcome the entire PCA staff for our first all school meeting of the new school year. We had a time of worship, heard from Head of School, Dr. Larry Taylor and enjoyed Babes for lunch!
The Lower School staff from PCA Plano joined our teachers to discuss curriculum and lend their support. What an awesome thing it is to begin the new work at PCA North while we have the support of our sister campus!
