Pumpkin Patch Fun!

Our PreK students headed out to the pumpkin patch in Celina.  We went to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm.  Another great thing about being at school "up North" is that a really great pumpkin patch is nearby!

Students, parents, and teachers experienced: feeding farm animals, a hay maze, a hayride, picnic lunch, and choosing their very own pumpkin to take home.  The weather was absolutely perfect!  As one PreK 3 student declared, "This pumpkin patch stuff is pretty fun!"  Yes, it was! Over the years, I've been to many pumpkin patches and this was one of the best!

(Oops...Notice the student falling off the pumpkins.)

What a great day!  I am so glad I was able to join our PreK on this field trip!

Kindergarten State Fair

Kindergarten students have spent time learning about our state.  As a culminating activity, the students celebrated by having the Kindergarten State Fair!

The day was FULL of activities.  A highlight was having a horse come to school!  This is just one of the many reasons I love being at school "up North!"  Life in the country is sure fun!

One of our PCA North moms, Ginger Weeks, brought her horse, Bella, to visit.  Students were able to learn fun facts about horses, how they are trained, and take their turn in the saddle.  Thanks to our PCA North friend, Mark Ladd, for helping with the rides.  Students were also impressed to see Mr. Ladd's horseman skills!

(Pardon the many horse pictures...I had trouble editing!)

Ginger Weeks thought of everything, presenting the students, presenting the students with certificates for excellent horsemanship.

All of that horseback riding worked up an appetite!  Fortunately, some amazing parent volunteers had prepared yummy fair food for lunch!  Students enjoyed corn dogs,

Even...cotton candy!

Then, a little reading 'round the campfire!

Students learned line dancing in PE and enjoyed performing with the moms (and grandma) who came to help with the State Fair!  (I have to say...this is one cool grandma who will wear her cowboy boots and line dance with kindergarten!)

Students participated in other State Fair activities such as arcade games, a little steer roping, and some barrel racing.

Mrs. Zarycki - Thanks for doing such a great job with our FIRST Kindergarten State Fair at PCA North.  We continue to celebrate a year of firsts!
