Life in First Grade

Mrs. Fuller is a wonderful first grade teacher.   I can pop into her classroom at any time and see fabulous learning taking place.  Most importantly, students are excited about school! Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks.

Bible

I loved seeing the class gathered around Mrs. Fuller with their Bibles in hand.

Math

There is nothing that warms a principal's heart like seeing students excited about learning math strategies!

Students also utilize a problem solving notebook in math. Mrs. Fuller gives a daily challenge and students utilize various strategies to solve the problem.  Individual number lines come in very handy for these problems.

Reading

Of course, one of the most important things in a first grade curriculum is reading!  Here is a glimpse into the reading groups Mrs. Fuller utilizes.  There is a time every day for Mrs. Fuller to hear each student read aloud.

Science

First graders have been learning about states of matter during their science time.  Making pancakes was a fun way to show how a liquid becomes a solid.
