Teddy Bear Unit for Mrs. Z's Class

Mrs. Zarycki is one great teacher!  I've told more than one person I wish I could just hide outside her classroom and listen to her teach.  She is a WOW!

She is such a WOW that it will be difficult for me to describe the depth of instruction covered with her students in their recent "teddy bear" unit.

Students brought their favorite teddy bear to school for various activities. They learned about mammals, the biblical importance of names, and a myriad of other things!  The teddy bears helped students learn math, science, history, and language arts activities.  Plus, students, teddy bears, and Mrs. Zarycki had a lot of fun!

The teddy bears even spent the night at school.  The next morning, they were doing all sorts of things. Think Elf on a Shelf  - or Teddy Bear in the School, in this case!  The teddy bears even left notes for the class to find.

The unit culminated when students traveled to Build a Bear Workshop for a field trip.
